Welcome to terezazuntova.com

This is the website of Tereza Zuntova, the Czech kickboxer who became WKA World Champion in 2003. At 5'10" Tereza has both the looks and stature more usually associated with a top model than of someone who gets into the ring, but that hasn't stopped her leaving the kickboxing world in her wake. The sport itself is sometimes perceived as "aggressive and bloody", but Tereza's coach Miroslav Sobotka insists "it's mainly about overall coordination and technique" and Tereza says she hasn't suffered anything worse than an "almost broken nose".

Tereza Zuntova was born on 30th March 1979 in Pardubice, Czech Republic, a city about 50 miles east of Prague. She completed her A-Levels in 1997 before leaving for England, where she intensively studied both the English language and computer studies for 3 years. It was during her time in England that Tereza took up kickboxing and upon her return to Prague she signed up for training under Sobotka, a pioneer of the sport in the Czech Republic. Tereza continued to train while she worked teaching English "to business people" and studied Business Administration and Journalism at the Anglo-American University in Prague. Tereza also wrote articles for both the University newspaper and the Prague Post and is currently employed by Unilever. She also works as an assistant consultant for the office of Czech MP Michal Doktor.

Tereza currently trains under the supervision of 4-times World Champion - and silver medallist at the prestigious US Open - Pavel Dvoršcík and 6-times World Champion Petr Kotík. They are both former students of Tereza's first coach Miroslav Sobotka and Tereza would like to thank them both for allowing her to use their gym (www.kosagym.com) free of charge.

In her short kickboxing career Tereza has won 15 National and International tournaments including no fewer than 3 Czech Open titles, 4 Czech National Cup victories, 4 Czech National Championship titles and the 2005 Bavaria Cup. For full details of Tereza's impressive tournament wins, please visit the Results & Schedule page of this site.

In order to cover the cost of training and to travel to and compete in the most high profile tournaments Tereza requires corporate partners to sponsor her. For further details of how sponsoring a World Champion can enhance your marketing output, the packages available and the associated costs, please visit the Sponsorship page of this site.

Provided Tereza can secure the necessary financial support, she hopes to travel to Canada for a few weeks in September to train with the Steve Anderson Karate World Training Center as she feels "it would be a great opportunity to train with someone new and I'm sure it would be very beneficial for me". She has been invited to compete in a number of the most high-profile tournaments in Europe during the first 6 months of 2006, which she says are the "competitions for the best fighters". For further details of upcoming tournaments, please visit the Results & Schedule page of this site and click on the "Click here to see the Schedule of upcoming tournaments" link.
